When purchasing carpet for your home or office, it is vital that you understand how your carpet will affect the Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) of your space. In 1992, the Carpet and Rug Institute (CRI) created the Green Label testing program to test carpets for their emission of VOCs. The CRI has recently expanded their testing program to include Green Label Plus, which tests carpets and adhesives. Both programs aim towards getting consumers to purchase low emitting carpets, which will enhance the Indoor Air Quality.
